Start-of-Day Cleaning Procedure
3
Every day before you start up the transport, you must perform these cleaning
tasks:
1 Vacuum the entire length of the transport.
2 Clean the glass parts (windows and lenses), the black and white reference
rods and the illuminators.
3 Clean the graphical endorser(s).
This section tells you how to do these jobs.
If you are not sure what equipment your transport has, ask your supervisor,
or see Chapter 1, “Introducing the Transport”.

For start-of-day cleaning, you need the special vacuum cleaner nozzle and
cleaning tube:
If your transport has an image-lift/reader module or a downstream ILM,
you'll need:

and the pre-moistened tissues to remove smudges and fingerprints.
• one of the special swabs provided for cleaning track windows
• one of the special swabs provided for cleaning illuminators
• a piece of thin cardboard to clean the track and the pocket drive rollers
If your transport has a graphical endorser, you will need:
• a cleaning cloth to clean the track at the graphical endorser(s)
• a cotton-tipped swab to clean the vacuum openings at the graphical
endorser(s)
