If the number of double-feeds or documents not fed increases, it may be time
to replace the wiper and feeder belt. In any case, you should replace these
parts each time your transport has processed 2 000 000 documents.

For this procedure, you'll need a replacement hopper wiper and a replacement
feeder belt. Always change the Merge hopper wiper and the feeder belt
together. When you take the worn parts out, watch carefully how they fit into
the module; this will help you install the new parts.
The wiper and feeder belt for the merge hopper are identical to those used
for the main hopper. It is a good idea to replace the merge hopper wiper and
feeder belt every six months in any case. If these parts are not worn, you can
use them on the main hopper (when the main hopper needs new parts).
To change the parts:
1 Remove any documents from the hopper.
2 Lift two cabinet covers (one swings up, the other pulls off).
3 Remove the wiper as follows:
• With one hand, push the wiper lever back and hold it open.
• With your other hand, grip the wiper and pull it straight up out of
the transport. Release the lever, then throw this wiper away.
