Peripheral Usage

Thisterminalshouldonlybeusedwithperipheraldevicesthatarecertifiedbythe

appropriatesafetyagencyforthecountryofinstallation(UL,CSA,TUV,VDE)or

thosewhicharerecommendedbyNCRCorporation.



Grounding Instructions

Intheeventofamalfunctionorbreakdown,groundingprovidesapathofleast

resistanceforelectriccurrenttoreducetheriskofelectricshock.Thispro

ductis

equippedwithanelectriccordhavinganequipment‐groundingconductoranda

groundingplug.Theplugmustbepluggedintoamatchingoutletthatisproperly

installedandgroundedinaccordancewithalllocalcodesandordinances.Donot

modifytheplugprovid

ed–ifitwillnotfittheoutlet,havetheproperoutletinstalled

byaqualifiedelectrician.Improperconnectionoftheequipment‐grounding

conductorcanresultinariskofelectricshock.

Theconductorwithinsulationhavinganoutersurfacethatisgreenwithorwithout

yellowstripesistheequipment‐groundingconductor.

Ifrepairorreplacementoftheelectriccordorplu

gisnecessary,donotconnectthe

equipment‐groundingconductortoaliveterminal.Checkwithaqualifiedelectrician

orservicepersonnelifthegroundinginstructio ns arenotcompletelyunderstood,orif

youareindoubtastowh

ethertheproductisproperlygrounded.

Useonly3‐wireextensioncordsthathave3‐pronggroundingplugsand3‐pole

receptaclesthataccepttheproduct’splug.Repairorreplacedamagedorworncords

immediately.
