10. Configure operation settings of the internal simple uninterrupted power supply as needed.
You can configure the internal simple uninterrupted power supply by EXPRESSSCOPE Engine
3/BMC Management Console, NEC ESMPRO/ServerManager, or Server Configuration Utility.

Refer chapter 2 (2.7 Battery Configuration) in the “Maintenance Guide” about Server Configuration
Utility.
* In case of Express5800/T110i-S, use EXPRESSSCOPE engine 3, and in case of
Express5800/T110j-S, use BMC Management Console.
Internal simple uninterrupted power supply is configured as below at the factory shipment.
・Shutdown at power lost : Enable
・Shutdown delay time : 30 seconds
・Battery turn off delay time: 3600 seconds
・Boot after power recovery: Enable
・Boot timeout after DC-ON: 0 seconds.
ESMPRO/ServerManager(older than ver.6.20) cannot reset to default settings.
You need to change some settings manually in order to set default status.
3. Removal
You can replace or remove the internal simple UPS control kit by a reverse procedure. If internal simple
UPS becomes exhausted, replace only N8181-152 Internal simple UPS.
You can check the internal simple UPS degradation status by Battery LED ( ).
4. Precautions for operating with internal simple UPS
Charge the internal simple UPS before you start operation. You can check charging state and
settings of internal simple UPS with EXPRESSSCOPE Engine 3/ BMC Management Console or
NEC ESMPRO. For details, see the manual provided with each tool.
* In case of Express5800/T110i-S, use EXPRESSSCOPE engine 3, and in case of
Express5800/T110j-S, use BMC Management Console.
Following is the limitations when using internal simple UPS.
Up to 4 hard disk drivers can be installed.
High Temperature Resistant Kit cannot be mounted.
The backup device can be mounted on only 3.5-inch additional bay(1).
Redundant power unit cannot be installed.
If errors are detected after you finished installation, confirm the mount procedure and confirm the
cable of internal simple UPS is surely connected.
The setting to start shutdown when power supply abnormality occurs is enabled by default.
Detection of abnormal temperature
If the internal simple UPS is used in the system, there is a possibility to detect abnormal temperature
due to following characteristics of the battery.
AC off/on repeatedly in very short term.
System is in heavy load condition when system turns to battery backup operation.
In this case, if the temperature returns to normal value after a while, it is no problem.
Please check system operating condition, load status and settings of battery operation.
If abnormal temperature detects continuously, the internal simple UPS or the internal simple UPS
control kit may have problem. Please consult your sales or service representative.
