GAS CONNECTION
The connection must be made by a qualified gas fitter according to the relevant standard. The gas
connection is positioned on the right hand side (from front), in from the back edge. At the end of the
gas inlet manifold is a ½ BSP nut, which can be loosened to allow the elbow fitting to rotate.
The fitting is made up of 1 x elbow fitting, 1 x gasket and 1 x ULPG test point nipple adaptor (for ULPG
use only) or NG regulator. The hob must be installed in a room with adequate ventilation (see installation
section). The inlet is 36mm from the right hand side and 40mm in from the back edge.
There are two ways the gas connection can be made to the main gas line:
a) The appliance can be connected with a rigid pipe as specified in AS5601.
b) The appliance can be connected with a flexible hose assembly that complies to AS/NZS 1869,
10 mm ID, class B or D and 1200 mm or less in length in accordance to AS5601. Ensure that
the hose cannot get in contact with any hot surface of the appliance or any nearby appliance
(dishwasher, oven etc). The hose should not be subject to abrasion, kinking or permanent
deformation, and should be positioned so that the entire length of the hose can be inspected
with the appliance installed. The gas supply connection must be accessible. Unions compatible
with the hose fittings must be used and all connections leak tested.
N.G.:
Fit the supplied NG regulator to the inlet adaptor at the end of the inlet manifold using two spanners
(note orientation of the NG regulator gas flow).
Connect the other side of the NG regulator to the gas inlet pipe with the correct ½” BSPT thread
connector using two spanners.
L.P.G.:
Connect the LPG test point nipple adaptor to the inlet adaptor and then connect to the gas inlet pipe
with the correct ½” BSPT thread connector (or using the appropriate adaptor) using two spanners.
Connect the other end of the pipe to the cylinder pressure regulator.
ORIENTATION OF THE ELBOW
The appliance is supplied with a gas connection oriented down out of the cooking hob. The connection to the
gas supply should be as direct as possible, either directly from the outlet adaptor, or from the supplied elbow. To
turn the elbow, follow these operations:
Tighten elbow to reduction adaptor.
Loosen the nut.
Turn the elbow.
Lock the nut.
Make sure that there are no leakages by testing with a soapy solution and brush.
If the gasket at the nut is in any way damaged, it must be replaced.
WARNING: The elbow should not be adjusted without loosening the locking nut first.
OPERATIONS TO BE PERFORMED WHEN CONVERTING GAS TYPES
This operation can only be performed by an
authorised person.
First remove the trivets and the burner covers and
place on a safe surface.
Using a spanner, replace the injector with either
Natural Gas sized injectors or LPG sized injectors
(listed in the appliance details section of this
manual). For semi-rapid and rapid burners, the
injector is in the centre of the burner body. For the
wok burner, the injector is opposite the inlet pipe.
