MACHINESAFETY
Beforeperforminganymaintenanceorrepairoperation,
makesurethemachineisinsafeconditions.
Movethemachinetoalevelandrmground,awayfrom
anysoftground,excavationsorpoorlyshoredcavity.
Lowertheloaderattachmenttotheground.
Placethebackhoeattachmentintheroadtravelposition.
Placethedirection-of-travelleverandgearshiftleverin
neutralposition.
Immobilizethemachinebymeansoftheparkingbrake.
Completelyraisethestabilizersandlockthemmechani-
cally.
Stoptheengineandremovethestarterswitchkey(must
beperformedwiththeenginestoppedandthestarter
switchkeyremovedfromthecylinder).
Releasethehydraulicpressurebyoperatingthecontrol
leversinalldirections.Onhydraulicallycontrolledma-
chines,turnthekeytoONandreleasethepressureby
movingthehydrauliccontrolleversinalldirections.
Disconnecttheelectricalsystembydisconnectingthebat-
terymasterswitch.
Placesomewedgesunderthewheelsinordertoprevent
themachinefrommoving.
NOTE:forallmaintenanceoperationswhichrequirethe
loaderattachmenttoberaised,installthesafetysupport
strut.

PERSONNEL
Thepersonnelinchargeofthechecksandmaintenance
operationsmustbesufcientlyskilledtoperformthese
operationsonthismachineorsimilarmachines.
Thisskillmaybeobtainedbybeingtrainedforseveral
daysbyatechnician,forexample,orbyattendingatrain-
ingcoursegivenbyqualiedteachers.
