Assistedstartingconnections
Twopersonsarerequiredforthisprocedure.Makesure
thepersonmakingtheconnectioniswearinghandand
faceprotection.
1.Switchoffallelectricalaccessoriesinreceivingma-
chineandturnkeyswitchto“0”.
2.Switchoffallaccessoriesinsupplyingmachine
(boosterbattery)andshutoffengine.
3.Opentheenginehood.
4.Removetheredcapfromthejumppost(1)onthe
right-handsideoftheengine.
5.Connecttheredjumpercabletothejumppost(1)
ontheright-handofthemachinewiththedischarged
battery.
6.Connecttheotherendoftheredjumpercabletothe
positiveterminalontheboosterbattery.
7.Connecttheblackjumpercabletothenegativeter-
minalontheboosterbattery.
8.Connecttheotherendoftheblackjumpercableto
thealternatorframe(2)onthemachinewiththedis-
chargedbattery.
9.Starttheengineofthesupplyingmachine.
10.IncreaseRPM.
11.Starttheengineofthereceivingmachine.
12.Iftheenginedoesnotstartupafter30s,waitone
minutebeforerestarting.
13.Afterthemachinewiththedischargedbatterystarts,
activatesomeoftheaccessorieswithhighcurrentab-
sorption,suchascompletelightingandair-condition-
ing.

14.Thispreventsvoltagepeaks,whichmightdamage
electronicmodules,fromoccurringwhenthejumper
cablesaredisconnected.
15.Removetheblackjumpercablefromthealternator
frame.
16.Removetheotherendoftheblackjumpercablefrom
theboosterbattery.
17.Removetheredjumpercablefromthejumppost(1).
18.Removetheotherendoftheredjumpercablefrom
theboosterbattery.
19.Runtheengineatmoderatespeedforabouthalfan
hour.Thebatteriesrechargepartially.
20.Havetheelectricalsystemofthemachinechecked,
todeterminewhythebatteriesweredead.
