supportstrutfromthestoragepositionandplacethestrutontothecylinderrod.Installtheretaining
boltentirelyintothestrut.Lowerliftarmsontothesupportstrut.

Followthisprocedureforpreparingthemachinefor
serviceunlessthemaintenanceprocedureinstructsyou
otherwise:
1.Ifnecessary,removetheloaderbucketorattachment.
2.Ifnecessary,removethebackhoebucketorattach-
ment.
3.Movethemachinetoalevelandrmground.
4.Lowertheloaderattachmenttothegroundwithno
downforceorraisetheloaderarmandengagethe
safetysupportstrutifenginecompartmentaccessis
necessary.

5.Lowerthebackhoebuckettothegroundwithnodown
forceorplacethebackhoeinthestowedpositionwith
theswinglockpininthelockposition.
6.Raisethestabilizersormakesurethattheyareresting
onthegroundwithnodownforce..
7.Placethedirection-of-travelleverandgearshiftlever
intheNEUTRALposition.
8.Engagetheparkingbrake.
9.Stoptheengine.
10.Releasethehydraulicpressure.See“Hydraulicsys-
tem-Releasepressure”7-132forthecompletepro-
cedure.
11.RemovethekeyandattachaDONOTOPERATEtag
inapositionthatallservicetechniciansandmachine
operatorswillnotice.
12.TurnthemasterdisconnectswitchtoOFF.
13.Blockthewheels.
Personnel
Thepersonnelinchargeofthechecksandmaintenance
operationsmustbesufcientlyskilledtoperformthese
operationsonthismachineorsimilarmachines.
Thisskillmaybeobtainedbybeingtrainedforseveral
daysbyatechnician,forexample,orbyattendingatrain-
ingcoursegivenbyqualiedinstructors.
