Machinestorage
Ifthemachineistobeinstorageformorethan30days,parkthemachineinsideabuilding.Ifabuildingisnot
available,parkthemachineinadryareaonplanksandcoverthemachinewithawaterproofcovering.
Geographic,environmentalandactualstorageconditionsmakeitdifculttofollowasetstorageprocedureforall
areasandconditions.Thefollowingprocedureisforastorageperiodofsixmonthsorlonger.Thisprocedureisa
goodstartingpointbutmaynotbeallinclusive.Ifyouhavequestionsaboutstoringyourmachine,contactyourdealer.
1.Inspectthemachineforvisiblesignsofwear,break-
ageordamage.Orderanypartsrequiredandmake
thenecessaryrepairstoavoiddelayswhenstartingthe
nextoperatingperiod.
2.Washthemachine.
3.Lubricatethemachineatallgreasettings.
4.Paintanyareawherethepainthasbeendamaged.
5.Drainthefueltank.
6.Putapproximately8l(2USgal)ofdieselushingoilin
thefueltank.Runtheengineuntiltheexhaustsmoke
isbluewhite.
7.Draintheushingoilfromthefueltank.
8.Fillthefueltankandadddieselfuelconditionerbyfol-
lowingthedirectionsonthecontainer.
9.DraintheDieselExhaustFluid(DEF)/AdBlue®tank.
10.Moveallhydrauliccontrolstorelieveanypressurein
thehydrauliccircuits.
11.Changetheengineoilandreplacetheoillter.
12.Drainthecoolingsystem.Leavethedrainvalvesopen
anddonottightentheradiatorcap.
13.PutaDoNotOperatetagontheinstrumentpanel.
14.Cleanorreplacetheprimaryelementfortheairlter.
15.Covertheexposedcylinderrods,valvespools,and
anyotherbaremetalpartswitharustandcorrosion
preventive.
16.Chargethebattery.Removethebatteryfromthema-
chineandstoreinacooldryareawherethetemper-
atureisabovefreezing0°C(32°F).Makesurethe
batteryisclean.
NOTE:Checkthebatteryperiodicallyforthecorrectelectrolytelevel.Testtheelectrolytewithahydrometer.When
thehydrometerreadingisnear1.215,chargethebattery.
