1.Pressthebeltdownwithyourthumbwithaforceof
approximately98N·m(72lbft)tocheckthedeection.
Therearethreepositionstocheckforbelttension(A),
(B)and(C).Youcancheckthetensionatwhichever
positionisthemostaccessible.Theproperdeection
ofausedbeltateachpositionis:
Usedbelttension
(A)10–14mm(0.4–0.6in)
(B)7–10mm(0.3–0.4in)
(C)9–13mm(0.4–0.5in)
NOTE:checkanyindicationofdamageonthepulleyorbelt
duetowear.Checkthoroughlytomakesurethatthebelt
iscorrectlyengagedtogrooveofthepulley.Thebeltmust
bereplacedifitiselongated,ithascracksoritiswornout.

Adjustmentofbelttension
1.Loosentheadjustingbolt(1)andtheotherrelatedbolts
and/ornuts,thenmovethealternator(2)withapry
bar(3)totightenthebelttothedesiredtension.Then
tightentheadjustingboltsand/ornuts.
