Basic Shooting and Playback Operations
Using the Zoom
When you press the multi selector HI, the
zoom lens position changes.
• To zoom in: Press H.
• To zoom out: Press I.
When you turn the camera on, the zoom
moves to the maximum wide-angle position.
• A zoom indicator is displayed on the
shooting screen when the multi selector
HI is pressed.
• Digital zoom, which allows
you to further magnify the
subject up to approximately
4× the maximum optical
zoom ratio, can be activated
by pressing H when the
camera is zoomed in to the
maximum optical zoom
position.
C Digital Zoom
The zoom indicator changes to blue when the digital zoom is activated, and it
changes to yellow when the zoom magnification is increased further.
• Zoom indicator is blue: Image quality is not noticeably reduced by using the
Dynamic Fine Zoom.
• Zoom indicator is yellow: There may be cases in which image quality is noticeably
reduced.
• The indicator remains blue across a wider area when the image size is smaller.
