229C The Shooting Menu: Shooting Options
Choose whether the built-in AF-assist
illuminator lights to assist the focus
operation when lighting is poor.
Choose the flash mode for the built-in flash in P, S, A, and M
modes.
Built-in AF-assist Illuminator
G button C shooting menu
Option Description
On
The AF-assist illuminator lights when lighting is poor (for
more information, see page 331).
Off
The AF-assist illuminator does not light to assist the focus
operation.
The camera may not be able to focus using
autofocus when lighting is poor.
Flash Cntrl for Built-in Flash
G button C shooting menu
Option Description
1 TTL
Flash output is adjusted automatically in response to
shooting conditions.
2 Manual
Choose a flash level.
At full
power, the built-in flash has
a Guide Number of
approximately 12/39 (m/ft.,
ISO 100, 20 °C/68 °F).
