RETROGRADE MOVEMENT CONTROL
FUNCTION
GUID-CCAE0206-6B5D-47B8-9D0E-0E88E4C21C68
This system is designed to reduce the retrograde
movement that occurs while the driver’s foot changes
from depressing the brake pedal to the accelerator
pedal when moving the vehicle while the Idling Stop
System is active on a hilly road.
Because this function uses the VDC brake control, if
the VDC warning light illuminates in the meter, the
retrograde movement control function will not operate.
(See “Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system” (P.5-
12) and “Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) warning
light” (P.2-15).)

Example
Use this when you would like to cancel operation of the
Idling Stop System.
. When the Idling Stop System is deactivated while
the engine is running, the engine is prevented from
automatically stopping.
. Push the switch again, or push the ignition switch
to the OFF position (power position) once, restart
the engine and the Idling Stop System will
become active. (The switch indicator light will turn
off.)
. If the ignition switch is pushed while the Idling
Stop System is active, the engine will restart.

WARNING:
. The VDC system is designed to help the
driver maintain stability but does not pre-
vent accidents due to abrupt steering opera-
tion at high speeds or by careless or
dangerous driving techniques. Reduce vehi-
cle speed and be especially careful when
driving and cornering on slippery surfaces
and always drive carefully.
. Do not modify the vehicles suspension. If
suspension parts such as shock absorbers,
struts, springs, stabilizer bars, bushings and
wheels are not NISSAN recommended for
your vehicle or are extremely deteriorated,
the VDC system may not operate properly.
This could adversely affect vehicle handling
performance, and the VDC warning light
may illuminate.
. If brake related parts such as brake pads,
rotors and calipers are not NISSAN recom-
mended or are extremely deteriorated, the
VDC system may not operate properly and
the VDC warning light
may illuminate.
. If engine control related parts are not
NISSAN recommended or are extremely
deteriorated, the VDC warning light
may illuminate.
. When driving on extremely inclined surfaces
such as higher banked corners, the VDC
system may not operate properly and the
VDC warning light
may illuminate. Do
not drive on these types of roads.
. When driving on an unstable surface such as
a turntable, ferry, elevator or ramp, the VDC
warning light
may illuminate. This is not
