Warning labels about the supplemental air bag system
are placed in the vehicle as shown in the illustration.

driver’s and/or passenger’s sun visor.

(if equipped) is located on the
side of the passenger’s side body panel.
The label(s) warn you not to fit a rear-facing child
restraint system on the front passenger seat as such a
restraint system used in this position could cause
serious injury to the infant in case of air bag
deployment during a collision.

Air bag warning label

warns:
“NEVER use a rearward facing child restraint on a seat
protected by an ACTIVE AIRBAG in front of it, DEATH
or SERIOUS INJURY to the CHILD can occur.”
In vehicles equipped with a front-impact passenger air
bag system, use a rear-facing child restraint system
only on the rear seats.
When installing a child restraint system in your vehicle,
always follow the child restraint system manufacturer’s
instructions for installation. For additional information,
see “Child restraints” (P.1-12).
SRS air bag warning light

The SRS air bag warning light, displaying in the
instrument panel, monitors the circuits for the air bag
systems, pre-tensioner seat belt systems and all
related wiring.
When the ignition switch is in the “ON” position, the
SRS air bag warning light illuminates for about 7
seconds and then turns off. This indicates that the SRS
air bag systems are operational.
If any of the following conditions occur, the air bag
and/or pre-tensioner seat belt systems need servicing:
. The SRS air bag warning light remains on after
approximately 7 seconds.
. The SRS air bag warning light flashes intermit-
tently.
