Instant messages is a way of sending
short text messages that are
delivered over TCP/IP protocols to
online users (network service). Your
contact list shows you when the
contacts on the list are online and
available to participate in a instant
messages conversation.
Before you can use instant
messages, you need to subscribe to
the service. For availability, charging
and subscription to the service,
contact your network operator or
service provider, from whom you also
receive your unique ID and password
and the settings for instant
messages. For setting the required
settings for the instant messages
service, see ”IM and Presence
settings” on page 54.The icons and
texts on the display may vary
depending on the chat service.
You can use the other functions of
the phone, while you have an active
instant messages session in the
background.
