9.1.1.1 Dismantle upper part of the device
Requirement
Ensure free access to the upper part of the device – particularly with motor-mounted devices. If
required, dismantle the motor with attached frequency inverter to gain access to the device.
Procedure
1. Switch off the device’s main power supply (power supply and control voltage supply)
and secure the device from switch-on.
2. Wait for at least 5 minutes for the capacitors in the frequency inverter to discharge.
3. Loosen all plug connections on the outside of the device.
4. Loosen the four fastening screws at the upper part of the device and carefully lift it off the base
part without damaging the seal between the housing parts.
5. Successively disconnect all plug connections from the upper part of the device end remove it.
6. Store the four fastening screws so that they cannot get lost. You need these fastening screws
later to mount the replacement device.
7. Seal the base part of the device with adhesive tape or an electrically non-conducting foil, to
avoid the ingress of dirt into the device.
Pack the upper part and return to NORD.
9.1.1.2 Mount upper part of the device
Requirement
Make sure that the main power supply (power supply and control voltage supply) is switched off.
Procedure
1. Remove the temporary cover from the base part of the device.
2. Clean the contact surfaces at the base part and check the seal.
3. Successively connect all plug connections of the base part with the related connections at the
upper part of the device.
4. Fit the upper part on the base part of the device without jamming the individual cables
between the housing parts.
5. Screw together the housing parts crosswise with the four fastening screws. Tightening torque:
2.0 Nm ± 20%
6. Connect all plug connections on the outside of the device.
7. If required, remount the motor with attached frequency inverter at the place of use.
8. Switch on the device and set the motor data according to prior use. You can recommission the
device only after having finished these steps.
