selector bar
to
the
right and setting each
button
as
described above for
AM
stations.
Slide
the
selector bar
to
the
left and follow
the same procedure
for
FM
stations.
CAUTION:
Do
not
slide
selector
bar
with
any
push
button
in
the
outer
position.
FM
RECEPTION-Although
FM
reception
is
generally static free, it
is
limited by
terrain, atmospheric conditions, distance
to
and
strength
of
the station.
FM
transmission follows a "line of sight"
characteristic which reflects or
is
shadowed
out
by tall buildings or
other
obstructions.
This causes momentary static, fading,
flutter
or
station swapping. When this
occurs, switching
to
another
FM
station
that
is
closer or
in
a more unobstructed
line with your location will improve
reception.
AM·FM
STEREO
RADIO-The
sterephonic feature
of
this set
is
pre·set
at
the factory for balance and correct
separation of sound. An indicator light
to
the left
of
the dial comes on only when an
FM
stereo station
is
selected. It
is
also
important
that
your
two
front
and two
rear speakers be properly balanced
for
the
best stereo effect. (See control knobs.)
AM
OR AM·FM STEREO RADIO AND
TAPE
PLAYER-This
(optional) system
provides the convenience of an
AM
or
FM
radio with push
button
tuning and
the
pleasure of stereo tape music
in
the
same
unit.
To
operate
the
tape feature:
• Turn
the
radio volume knob
on
.
• I nsert the tape cartridge through the
radio dial door, label side up and open
end first.
• After cartridge
is
firmly seated, adjust
volume and speaker balance knobs.
• While each of the four channels will play
in
succession automatically, you can
manually select program channels by
depressing the
"PROGRAM"
button.
• Each time
the
button
is
pushed and
released, the unit
will step
to
the
next
channel.
The tape cartridge should be disengaged
when
not
in
use. To do this, push
the
"REMOVE"
button
and withdraw
the
cartridge. Store away from extreme heat or
direct sunlight and
protect
open end from
dirt
or
damage. With tape cartridge
removed, the radio operates
in
the
normal
manner.
