Overview

The HappyAir Plus is a ventilation system designed for air exchange in rooms, ensuring optimal indoor air quality. It's built to comply with CE directives and is suitable for various applications, including domestic and similar uses.

Function Description

The primary function of the HappyAir Plus is to facilitate continuous air exchange, removing stale air and introducing fresh air. This is achieved through a reversible fan that can operate in both intake and exhaust modes. The device is equipped with a filter to prevent dust and other particles from entering the room. It can be installed in a wall or ceiling, offering flexibility in placement. The system is designed to be energy-efficient and quiet in operation.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Dimensions: The main unit has a square shape with sides of 250 mm. The external grille measures 130 mm x 105 mm.
  • Power Supply: The device operates on a ~230 V power supply.
  • Ducting: It supports a maximum duct length of 3 meters and a minimum installation height for the HappyAir unit. The duct diameter is Ø 50 mm.
  • Airflow: The fan offers different airflow settings, typically 85 m³/h and 100 m³/h, which can be selected via a control panel.
  • Electrical Connection: The fan is a fixed appliance, and the main supply must be done by flexible cable with plug or by a unipolar switch with a minimum opening of the contacts of 3 mm.
  • Installation: The device can be installed in a wall (a parete) or ceiling (a soffitto). The minimum installation depth for the unit is 105 mm.
  • Noise Level: The device is designed for quiet operation, though specific dB levels are not provided in the technical specifications.
  • Safety: The device is equipped with safety features to prevent damage from improper use or maintenance. Electrical wiring must be carried out by highly qualified personnel.

Usage Features

  • Reversible Operation: The fan can be set to extract air from the room or introduce fresh air, allowing for balanced ventilation.
  • Control Panel: The device includes a control panel (S1) for selecting different operating modes and fan speeds. LED indicators show the current status (ON/OFF - led).
  • Flexible Installation: The HappyAir Plus can be installed with either a vertical or back outlet, depending on the specific requirements of the installation site. This flexibility is demonstrated in the installation diagrams (Section 1 of the installation guide).
  • Ducting Options: The device can be connected to ducting, allowing for air to be expelled or drawn from outside the building. The maximum length of the ducting is 3 meters, and it should be installed with a minimum slope of 3 degrees to prevent condensation buildup.
  • Condensation Management: When installing the fan in a room containing a combustion heater, ensure there is sufficient air to supply both appliances. This is to ensure the efficient operation of the heater and to allow a proper operation of the fan. The fan must discharge into a single fume pipe or directly outside.
  • Child Safety: This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

Maintenance Features

  • Filter Cleaning: Regular cleaning of the filter is recommended to maintain optimal performance. The filter can be easily accessed by removing the front grille. It is recommended to clean the filter monthly.
  • Disassembly for Cleaning: For thorough cleaning, the fan unit can be partially disassembled. It is crucial to disconnect the power supply before attempting any maintenance. The clamp holding the fan unit can be disconnected to remove the plate for cleaning.
  • Impeller Maintenance: Periodically, at least once a year or more frequently in cases of heavy use, remove dirt and incrustation from the impeller and inside casing and, if necessary, clean or replace the filter. It is also very important to make sure the impeller is not deformed or cracked, is able to rotate freely and without oscillation, and is properly fixed to the shaft.
  • Electrical Disconnection: Before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance, disconnect the mains electrical supply to the fan by means of a double pole switch or remove the plug. Any maintenance and cleaning operation that requires dismounting the unit must only be done by someone who is a properly qualified person.
  • No Lubrication Required: The device is designed to operate without the need for lubrication.
  • Professional Installation and Maintenance: Installation and major maintenance should be carried out by qualified personnel to ensure safety and proper functioning. Incorrect installation can cause damage to people, animals or properties.
