2.3.1.3 - ASSEMBLY OF THE AIR DUCTS AND EXTERNAL GRIDS
• Afterdrillingtheholes(withthecoredrill),inserttheplasticsheet(G)suppliedwiththeairconditioner
(g.11)insidethem.
Since the sheet (G) was made for 202 mm holes, you will have to cut off 130 mm from the long side of
thesheetforthe162mmholes(g.11).
The sheets must be 65 mm shorter than the length of the wall.
• Rollthesheet(G)andinsertitintothehole,payingattentiontothesplicingline,which must always
face upwards. (g.12).
 Useanordinarycutterfortheforegoingoperation(g.12).
To position the external grids, proceed as follows:
a. Applytheseal(F)tothewallange(D),ensuringitlinesupwiththeouteredgeoftheangeasindicated
inthegure13.
b. Fixthetwoangesusing2pegshavingadiameterof6mmandcheckthatthetwoxingholesare
horizontal(g.14-15-16).
c. Fitthesmalleyeletofthespring,withthelongstem,onthecappin(onbothcomponents)(g.17).
d. Insert the two caps (with spring), on the front part of the external grid, on its two housings, pulling until
itclicks(g.18)andcouplethetwochainstothelargeeyeletofthespring.
e. Using one hand, grip the two chains connected to the grid;
f. Bendtheexternalgridsback,grippingthemwithyourfreehandwheretheybend,andinsertyourngers
insidethesinglens(g.19).).
g. Insert your arm into the pipe until the grid protrudes completely outwards.
h. Reopenthegrid,beingcarefultokeepyourngersinsidethens.
i. Turnthegriduntilthensarefullyhorizontalandtilteddownwards.
l. Pullthechain,tensioningthespring,andcouplethechainringtothepinoftheinnerangethrough
whichthepipespass(g.20).
m. Use hand shears to cut off any excess chain links.
Use exclusively the supplied grids (E), or grids with like characteristics.
2.3.1.4 - PREPARING THE HOLES ON THE MACHINE
The unit was built to be paired with 162-mm pipes and, in order to obtain best performance and noiseless-
ness,youshouldusethe202-mmholes.Conguretheunitasfollows:
• Useacuttertopunchanopeningontherearcoverandremovethecoveringpart(g.21)soastocreate
the air passage hole having a diameter of 202 mm.
2.3.1.5 - POSITIONING THE APPLIANCE
• Toxthebracket,drilltheholesonthewallinthechosenpositionandxitwiththesupplieddowels
(g.22).
• Correctlypositionthebracketbymeansofalevelandtightentheplateusingthecorrespondingscrews
(g.22).
Work as follows:
a. Raisetheairconditionerholdingitbythesidesofthelowerbaseandhookittotheplate(L1)(g.24).
Slightly tilt the lower part of the appliance towards yourself to ease the operation.
