.. Macros not Activated
If after starting the CASY excell Software, the dialog box asking for activating macros is not displayed
as described in the installation instructions:
1
Start Microsoft Excel and open the settings for the security level of macros.
2
Ensure that the security level for macros is set to Low.
3
If necessary, change the security level and click OK.
4
Close Microsoft Excel.
5
Start CASY excell Software.
.. Data is not Transferred
If the data is not transferred to the computer, even though the computer is connected properly, and
you have activated the import mode:
1
Ensure that you have selected the setting Ser or P + S for data output in the used setup (see section
Output Parameters).
2
If using an USB port together with the delivered USB adapter, check if the assigned COM port has a
number higher than 4.
In this case, change the settings because it is not possible to set the communication ports to a value
higher than 4 in the CASY excell setup.
To change the communication ports in the Windows Device Manager, refer to the Windows
documen-
tation.
3
Check if the COM port settings, in terms of the communication ports in the CASY excell Setup sheet,
ts to the COM port connecting the CASY Instrument with the computer using the serial cable.
4
If neccessary, change the COM port setting in the CASY excell Software as follows:
+
Change to the Setup sheet.
The communication port is displayed in the Serial Port eld.
+
Change the serial port by clicking on the arrows to the physical COM port number in use or –
in
case of an USB adapter – to the COM port assigned in the Windows Device Manager.
+
Click Save.

Using a Computer with a Multi-Core-Processor
If you are using a computer with a multi-core-processor it might be possible that the transfer of
the data from the CASY Cell Counter and Analyzer to the computer does not work properly and the
software shows sporadic error messages.
Therefore, it might be necessary to adjust the CPU aliation so that Microsoft Excel only uses one
CPU. You change the CPU aliation in the Windows Task Manager. For a description, refer to the
Windows documentation.
Changes in the CPU aliation are not set up permanently. After restarting CASY excell you will
have to repeat this procedure. To store these settings permanently, you may use programs that
allow you to permanently store CPU aliation settings.
