Using a new card
• Ifyou use a non-Olympus card or acard used for another application, such as a computer,
use the [FORMAT) function toformat the card.

The card access lamp is blinking
• An image or movie is being recorded or downloaded (when connected to a computer).
• Do not do any of the following while the card access tamp is blinking. Doing so may
prevent the image data from being saved and render the internat memory or card
unusable.
• Open the battery/card compartment cover
• Remove the battery and card
Extending the useful life of the battery
• Performing any of the following operations when not actually taking pictures can deplete
the battery power.
• Repeatedly pressing the shutter button hatffvay
• Repeatedly using the zoom
• To save battery power, set [POWER SAVE] to [ON], or turn off the camera whenever it is
not in use.

Functions that cannot be selected from menus/Functions that cannot be
selected even by pressing the function buttons
• Some items may not be selectable from the menus when using the arrow pad.
(The menu items displayed in gray cannot be selected.)
• Items that cannot be set with the current shooting mode
• Items that cannot be set because of an item that has atready been set: [s,_] and [_ ],
etc.
• Some functions cannot be used when there is no card in the camera.
[PANORAMA], [PRINT ORDER[, [FORMAT], [BACKUP]
• When the mode diat is set to GUIDE,functions cannot be changed.
To return the settings of functions to default settings
• To return the changed shooting settings to default settings white shooting, set [RESET] to
[YES].

• All shooting settings except for P mode, [IMAGE QUALITY] and the setected scene mode
return to defautt settings when the camera is turned off.

The red-eye cannot be fixed
• Depending on the picture, the red-eye may not be fixed. Atso, parts except the eye may
be fixed.
Bright specks appear in the picture
• Light reflecting from dust and other particIes in the air atnight may appear as bright specks
in pictures taken using the flash.
