Reducing the blur caused by the camera shake when shooting

Submenu 2 Application
Off
The image stabilizer is deactivated. This is recommended for
shooting when the camera is fixed in place on a tripod or other
stable surface.
On The image stabilizer is activated.
While
Exposing
Image stabilization is activated when the shutter button is
pressed all the way down.
• There may be a noise coming from inside the camera when reducing camera
shake.
• Images may not be stabilized if camera shake is too severe.
• When the shutter speed is extremely slow, such as when taking pictures at
night, [Image Stabilizer] may not be as effective.
Using an external flash wirelessly

Off
The external flash is not available (For flash photography, the
camera uses the built-in flash).

RC
The dedicated underwater strobe or the Olympus wireless
RC flash is used for taking pictures. g “Using a dedicated
underwater strobe” (P. 103)
Slave
The commercially-available slave flash that is synchronized with
the camera flash is used for taking pictures. The flash intensity
setting can be adjusted.
• When you select [#RC] or [Slave], you can select [#RC] or [#SLV] in the
flash mode (P. 34).
