1-4 System Construction
The Analog Input Unit occupies many words and consumes a large current.
Therefore when constructing systems incorporating Analog Input Units, the user
should take the following into consideration.
1-4-1 Total Number of I/O Words
The maximum number of available I/O words for each system varies with the
CPU Unit. Refer to the following table.
Model Maximum
number of I/O
words
CQM1H-CPU11
16
CQM1H-CPU21
CQM1H-CPU51
32
CQM1H-CPU61
CQM1-CPU11-E
CQM1-CPU12-E

CQM1-CPU41-EV1
CQM1-CPU42-EV1
CQM1-CPU43-EV1
CQM1-CPU44-EV1

The Analog Input Unit usually occupies four input words. On the other hand, the
Analog Power Supply Unit does not use any I/O words. The total number of
words for each system must not exceed the above maximum number of I/O
words.
If the Analog Input Unit has one or two analog inputs, turn OFF pin 9 of the Ana-
log Input Units DIP switch so that the Analog Input Unit will occupy only two
words.
1-4-2 Total Current Consumption
The following is the capacity of each available Power Supply Unit, from which
power is supplied to a whole system.
Model Capacity
CQM1-PA203 5 VDC, 3.6 A, 18 W
CQM1-PA206,
CQM1-PA216
5 VDC, 6.0 A
24 VDC output, 0.5 A
Total: 30 W
CQM1-PD026 5 VDC, 6 A, 30 W
The following table lists the current consumptions of the Analog Input Unit and
Analog Power Supply Units. Refer to the CQM1H Operation Manual (W363) or
the CQM1 Operation Manual (W226) and select the most suitable Power Supply
Unit for your CQM1H/CQM1.
Unit Unit Current consumption at 5 VDC
Analog Input Unit CQM1-AD041 80 mA
Analog Power Supply
CQM1-IPS01 420 mA
Unit
CQM1-IPS02 950 mA
Caution The total current consumption of each system must not exceed the capacity of
the Power Supply Unit to be used.
