Press

switch

set
this
unit
to
the
standby
mode
in
which
power
can
be
switched
on
and
off
by
the
front
panel
system
power
button
and
remote
control
power
key.
The
power
indi-
cator
above
the
main
power
switch
lights
when
the
unit
is
in
standby
mode
and
during
operation.
{2] System Power Button (SYSTEM POWER)
When TX-890/TX-870 is in standby mode, press this button
to switch the on/off status of the power supply and the AC
outlets on the rear panel. Power can also be turned on by using
the remote control power key.

Tape
Monitor
Button
(TAPE-2
MONITOR)
and
Indicator
Press this button to use the tape deck connected to the TAPE-2
PLAY/REC jacks for recording, playback or dubbing. The
on the display lights up and “TAPE- 2”
appears at the INPUT SELECTOR display for two seconds.
Note that dubbing can only be performed from tape deck 1 to
tape deck 2 (TX-870). If tape deck 2 is a 3-head model, the
just-recorded signal can be monitored as a recording is being
made. The button is also enabled by the key on the remote
control transmitter.
