This document describes the Orava EC-322 Mini Electric Oven with Grill, a household appliance designed for baking, grilling, and general cooking. Function Description:

The Orava EC-322 is a versatile electric oven equipped with a grill and two cooking plates, allowing for a variety of cooking methods.

  • Oven Functionality: The oven is suitable for baking and grilling. It features an adjustable temperature range from 100 °C to 230 °C, controlled by a thermostat. Users can select different heating element configurations via a rotary switch:
    • Baking or grilling with the upper heating element (upper heating body + grill).
    • Baking with upper and lower heating elements + grill with lower heating element. The oven comes with a grill rack and a baking tray (drip tray) for versatile cooking. A handle for the drip tray/baking sheet and a grill bar handle are also included for safe handling.
  • Cooking Plate Functionality: The device includes two cooking plates: one large (left) and one small (right). Each plate has its own power setting thermostat, allowing users to adjust the desired temperature for conventional cooking. An indicator lamp is present for the cooking plates.
  • Combined Use: Both the cooking plates and the oven can be used simultaneously.

Usage Features:

  • Intended Use: Exclusively for cooking food (baking, grilling, cooking) within its technical and operating parameters. It is intended for home and similar indoor use, not for commercial purposes.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Always read the operating instructions before commissioning.
    • Ensure the appliance is complete and undamaged before first use.
    • Keep operating instructions close to the device for future reference.
    • Do not modify technical parameters or any part of the device.
    • Avoid using in industrial environments or outdoors.
    • Place on a stable, clean, and well-lit surface.
    • Do not expose to direct sunlight, excessive heat, flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
    • Electrical safety is guaranteed only with proper connection to the electricity grid (230 V~).
    • Use only the provided power cord and compatible wall outlet.
    • Connect to an easily accessible power outlet.
    • Do not pull the power cord to disconnect; pull the plug.
    • Check extension cords for appropriate current rating and grounding.

    • Always connect to main power, then switch on the main switch (controller).
    • After use, turn off the main switch, then unplug.
    • Do not use if the main power switch does not work.
    • The device contains hot surfaces during operation; do not touch without protection. Use handles, kitchen towels, or gloves.
    • Open the glass door slowly and carefully to avoid hot spills or burns from hot air.
    • Allow surfaces and hotplates to cool completely before handling or storing.
    • The electrical socket and power cord must remain easily accessible.
    • Recommended to connect to a separate 16A circuit breaker.
    • Never leave unattended with a free-hanging power cord, as children, inappropriate persons, or animals could tip the device.
    • Do not store with the cord wrapped around its body; unfold as originally packaged.
    • Do not overload beyond technical specifications.
    • Use only original accessories.
    • Use only kitchenware designed for electric ovens and cooking plates. Do not heat dishes in closed containers.
    • Do not place excess food or unsuitable containers.
    • Do not spray hot door glass with cold water or other liquids.
    • Observe operating mode according to instructions.
    • If unusual occurrences (sounds, odors, smoke) are noticed, switch off and unplug immediately, then have it checked by a specialist.
    • Never disable safety components; do not use if damaged or not working.
    • Children under 3 years must be prevented from accessing unless under supervision.
    • Children between 3 and 8 years must not connect, regulate, clean, or service the appliance.
  • First-Time Use:
    1. Read all instructions.
    2. Ensure oven is disconnected and controls are off.
    3. Wash all accessories in hot water with detergent or in a dishwasher.
    4. Thoroughly dry and reassemble in the oven, then connect to the electrical outlet.
    5. Switch on the oven at the highest temperature (230 °C) for about 15 minutes to burn off manufacturing residues and smells. A slight smell and smoke are normal during this initial operation.
  • Cooking Plate Operation:
    1. Connect power cord.
    2. Place a suitable flat-bottom cooker on the desired plate.
    3. Set the power setting thermostat (5 or 7) to the desired power/temperature.
    4. Do not leave the cooktop on without a vessel.
    5. Switch off the hob by setting the thermostat to 0 when cooking is complete.
    • Use only flat-bottom dishes for correct and trouble-free cooking.
    • Maximum food volume per plate should not exceed 2 L.
    • Cooking pot diameter must not exceed plate diameter.
  • Baking/Grilling/Roasting Operation:
    1. Connect power cord.
    2. Open door, place food in a suitable baking pan/grill, and close door. Use the supplied sheet for baking or the grilling rack with drip tray for grilling.
    3. Set oven temperature thermostat (3) to desired temperature (100 - 230 °C) and the grill switch/heating elements switch (8) to select the desired heating configuration.
    4. Do not leave the oven on without food to prevent overheating and damage.
    5. Refer to the orientation table for baking temperatures (e.g., 130 °C for cardboard dough/desserts/cakes, 170 °C for dumpling/cake, 210 °C for bread/pastry/risotto, 230 °C for chicken/poultry/pork/beef/fish).
    6. Turn off the grill/oven switch and set the thermostat to 0 (off) when cooking is complete.
  • Appropriate Kitchenware:
    • Suitable for Cooking, Barbecue, Baking: Cooking glass, pottery for cooking, classic metal cookware.
    • Suitable for Barbecue, Baking (but not Cooking): Barbecue grill.
    • Not Suitable for Cooking, Barbecue, Baking: Ordinary glass.
    • Do Not Use in Oven or on Cooking Plates: Overbonded containers (may fall apart), paper containers (fire risk), plastic containers (deform, contaminate food), wooden containers (dry, crack).

Maintenance Features:

  • General Maintenance:
    • Observe normal user cleaning and maintenance.
    • Do not use solvents or harsh cleaners.
    • Clean visible stains from finger contact with detergents designed for household appliances.
    • If not in use or faulty, clean or disconnect from power supply.
    • Do not disassemble; the appliance works with dangerous voltage. In case of fault, have it repaired by an authorized service center.
    • Only qualified personnel should repair the electrical appliance.
  • Cleaning Procedure:
    • Always disconnect the power cord and allow the device to cool completely before cleaning.
    • Surface Cleaning: Use a slightly moistened cloth with a mild detergent solution. Do not immerse in water or other liquids. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.
    • Inside and Accessories Cleaning: Use a slightly moistened cloth with a mild detergent solution for the interior. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners. Remove the grill and drip tray, rinse in lukewarm water with mild detergent, then rinse in clean water. Air dry thoroughly before replacing.
    • Control Panel and Door Cleaning: Clean with a dry cloth. If necessary, use a slightly moistened cloth with clean water. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.
  • Inspections: Regular machine inspections are recommended. Ensure the glass door is well closed and not damaged. Do not attempt to interfere with the construction or adjustment of components.
  • Damage: Never use if incomplete, damaged, or if any part has been damaged during use. Have it repaired by a specialist workshop.
