Glossary
Ambient Ligh
The light level around the baby. Bright light from
lamps, heaters, or direct sunlight can interfere
with Sensor performance. A dimly lit room is
best
Ambient Nois
The background sounds which are present at a
location. Common ambient sounds include
water, birds, appliances, traic, etc. It is
sometimes called the background noise level.
App (or Owlet Care+ App
Owlet Care+ mobile device application used to
communicate with the Sensor and the Base
Station
Base Statio
The part of BabySat that is the primary alarming
device and audible and visual indicator
Bluetooth
Wireless communication method used by the
Sensor to talk to the Base Station.
Caregive
A person who takes care of the baby and applies
the Sock with Sensor, checks the in-App
readings, and responds to alarms
Direct Connectio
Direct Wi-Fi connection between the Base
Station and mobile device on the same network
Pulse Rat
The number of heart beats per minute (BPM). It
is also called the Heart Rate
Hemoglobi
Part of the blood that carries oxygen throughout
the body
Measurement Ligh
Light that passes through the babys skin to
measure Pulse Rate and Oxygen Saturation
Oxygen Saturation (or SpO2
The percent of oxygen available in the babys
blood. It is displayed as %SpO2 in the Owlet
Care+ App.
Perfuse
The passage of blood through the organs and
capillaries
Pulse Oximete
Medical equipment that uses a non-invasive way
to measure and display the Oxygen Saturation in
the blood
Push Notification
Messages sent indirectly to your mobile device
through Apples cloud network
Remote Connectio
The connection of the Base Station to the App is
made through remote servers
Senso
The part of BabySat that measures Pulse Rate
and SpO2
Soc
Fabric sock that the Sensor attaches to
Wi-F
Wireless network for transferring data between
the internet and a mobile device.
