Packet
cancellation,
like
other
input
editing
features,
is
disabled
in
Transparent
Mode.
The
cancel-packet
character
also
functions
to
cancel
display
out-
put
in
Command
Mode.
If
you
are
in
Command
Mode
and
type
the
cancel-packet
character,
any
characters
that
would
be
typed
on
the
screen
(except
echoed
characters)
are
“thrown
away”
by
the
packet
controller.
Typing
the
cancel-output
character
a
second
time
restores
output.
To
see
how
this
works,
try
typing
DISPlay,
then
type
a
<CTRL-
Y>
The
command
list
display
will
stop.
You
won't
see
any
response
from
the
packet
controller
to
commands.
Now
another
<CTRL-Y>,
and
type
DISPlay
again
to
show
the
dis-
play
is
back
to
normal.
The
CBell
command
is
used
to
control
whether
an
ASCII
$07
(BELL)
character
is
sent
as
part
of
the
connected
message.
When
set
ON,
the
bell
character
immediately
precedes
the
asterisk
portion
of
the
connected
indication.
This
command
is
not
related
to
the
MFilter
command.
CBell
will
produce
a
>CONNECT
BELY’
even
if
MFilter
is
set
to
delete
incoming
$07
(BELL)
characters.
Avalue
or
0
disables
this
feature.

This
command
sets
a
connection
timeout.
When
your
packet
controller
and
another
station
are
connected,
and
the
other
sta-
tion
“disappears,”
the
packet
controller
will
try
to
clean
up
the
link
if
the
specified
time
elapses
without
any
packets
being
heard
from
the
other
packet
controller.
This
feature
depends
on
the
setting
of
AX25L2V2.
If
AX25L2V2
is
ON,
the
packet
controller
will
send
a
“check
acket”
if
no
packets
have
been
heard
from
it
for
n*
10
seconds.
the
receiving
packet
controller
is
still
connected,
it
sends
an
appropriate
response
packet.
If
the
packet
controller
initiating
the
inquiry
does
not
hear
a
response
after
RETRY
+
1
attempts,
it
commences
a
disconnect
sequence,
as
if
the
Disconnect
com-
mand
had
been
given.
If
AX2512V2
is
OFF
and
the
other
station
has
not
been
heard
for
n*10
seconds,
the
packet
controller
will
not
attempt
an
in-
quiry,
but
will
send
a
disconnect
frame.
