Item Description of settings
[TEXT MEMO (U4)] (Select a function)
Assigns the <TEXT MEMO> button.
For selectable functions and an explanation of functions, refer to “Assigning functions to <USER> buttons”
(page 67).
f Factory setting: [TEXT MEMO]
(Detection time)
Selects a response to accept when the <TEXT MEMO> button is pressed.
[NORMAL]: Accepts immediately when pressed.
[1sec]: Accepts when pressed and held down for approx. one second.

[SW MODE]
Item Description of settings
[RET SW] Sets the function when the <RET> button on the lens is pressed.
[INHIBIT]: The <RET> button function is disabled.
[REC CHECK]: Recording check function is enabled. Records can be checked of the last several seconds
recorded.
[CAM RET]: Return video function is enabled. While the <RET> button is pressed, the signal supplied to
the <SDI IN> terminal can be checked on the viewnder and LCD monitor.
[ASSIST]: Turns the focus assist display [ON]/[OFF].
[D.ZOOM]: Digital zoom function is enabled. Digital zoom can be switched [ON]/[OFF].
[EVF CLR]: Selects whether to display video in the viewnder in color or in black and white.
[TEXT MEMO]: Text memo function is enabled. A text memo can be recorded to the frame selected when
the button is pressed.
[SHOT MARK]: Shot mark function is enabled. Press to add a shot mark, and press again to remove it.
f Factory setting: [REC CHECK]
The return video is not displayed correctly when an image signal that differs from the video system of this
camera.
When the main menu [I/F SETUP] [GENLOCK] [GENLOCK] is set to [INT], return video images
may sometimes be skewed slightly in the horizontal direction.
When switching between camera images and return video images, the image on the viewnder and LCD
monitor may be disrupted for an instant. This is not a malfunction.
[S.BLK LVL] Sets the super black level.
[30], [20], [10], [OFF]
f Factory setting: [10]
[AUTO KNEE SW] Enables/disables auto knee function and DRS function.
[DRS]: When the <AUTO KNEE> switch is in the <ON> position, DRS function is enabled.
[ON]: When the <AUTO KNEE> switch is in the <ON> position, auto knee function is enabled.
[OFF]: Even if the <AUTO KNEE> switch is in the <ON> position, both auto knee function and DRS
function are not enabled.
f Factory setting: [ON]
[SHD,ABB SW CTL] Sets whether to automatically adjust black shading when the <AUTO W/B BAL> switch is pressed and
held down on the <ABB> side for two seconds or more.
[ON], [OFF]
f Factory setting: [OFF]
[COLOR BARS] Selects the color bar to use.
[SMPTE]: Uses the color bar in the SMPTE standard.
[FULL BARS]: Uses full color bars.
[SPLIT]: Uses SPLIT color bars for SNG (Satellite News Gathering).
[ARIB]: Uses ARIB standard color bars.
f Factory setting: [SMPTE]
[FOCUS ASSIST] Selects the operation when [ASSIST] (focus assist function) is assigned to the <USER> button or the
<RET> button.
[EXPAND]: Expands the display of the center portion of the video.
[IN RED]: Outlines the contour of the video in red.
f Factory setting: [EXPAND]
[EXPAND MODE] Selects the method to cancel expanded display when [EXPAND] is selected in [FOCUS ASSIST].
[10SEC]: Cancels in 10 seconds.
[HOLD]: Cancels when the button to which [ASSIST] is assigned is pressed.
[UNTIL REC]: Cancels when recording starts. Expanded display is not available during recording.
f Factory setting: [10SEC]
Regardless of this setting, expanded display is canceled when the button to which [ASSIST] is assigned is
pressed.
[WFM] Selects the type of waveform to be displayed on the viewnder screen or LCD monitor when the <USER>
buttons (<USER MAIN>/<USER1>/<USER2>) to which the waveform monitor function is assigned is
pressed.
[WAVE]: Displays as a waveform.
[VECTOR]: Displays as a vector.
[WAVE/VECTOR]: Each time the button is pressed, the display changes in order from no display
waveform display vector display no display.
f Factory setting: [WAVE]
[WFM DISP] Selects whether to display the waveform monitor on the viewnder or on the LCD monitor.
[VF]: Displays on the viewnder.
[LCD]: Displays on the LCD monitor.
[VF/LCD]: Displays on the viewnder and the LCD monitor.
f Factory setting: [VF/LCD]
