Confirm that [Transfer Mode] is set to [DMA if available] in [start] - [Control Panel] -
[Performance and Maintenance] - [System] - [Hardware] - [Device Manager] - [IDE ATA/ATAPI
controllers] - [Secondary IDE Channel] - [Advanced Settings] - [Device 0]. Perform this
setting if it has not yet been made.
To format the second hard disk, perform the operation below.
1 Turn your computer on.
Be sure to log on with the administrator authority.
2 Select [Disk Management] in [start] - [Control Panel] - [Performance
and Maintenance] - [Administrative Tools] - [Computer Management]
- [Storage].
3 When [Welcome to the Initialize and Convert Disk Wizard] is
displayed, select [Next].
4 At [Select Disks to Initialize], add the check mark for [Disk 1] and
select [Next].
5 At [Select Disks to Convert], remove the check mark for [Disk 1] and
then select [Next].
6 Select [Finish].
7 Click the right side of [Disk 1] with the right button and select [New
Partition].
Follow the on-screen instructions.
8 When the operation completes, be sure to select [start] - [Turn off
computer] and restart the computer before using the second hard
disk.
