• Recording Motion Images
(MPEG2) (.-> 27)
• If you disconnect the battery or the AC
adaptor while recording MPEG2 motion
images, or if you pull out a card while the
Card Access lamp [ACCESS] is lit, a
message for recovery appears when you
turn the unit on or insert a card again.
When you recover files, you can record or
play MPEG2 motion images again.
Therefore, be sure to follow the
instruction. However, when the recording
time is less than 1 second in Fine or
1.5 second in Normal, the movie files
cannot be recovered.
• If the motion image is recorded again after
stopping recording, it will be saved as
another file.
• The sounds recorded will be in stereo.
• The capacities of the recording time for
MPEG2 files are as follows:

• The MPEG4 motion images can be
recorded in any mode, but motion images
recorded in the [S-FINE], [FINE] or
[NORM] mode may not be played on other
Panasonic digital video cameras. The
message [PUSH THE RESET SWITCH]
may be displayed on some Panasonic
digital video cameras in such a case. This
is not a fault of the SD Video Camera.
• The sounds recorded will be in monaural.
• Playing back MPEG4 motion images
recorded in the [S-FINE] mode is not
guaranteed for digital devices other than
this SD Video Camera.
• MPEG4 motion images of the [S-FINE]
mode cannot be recorded in the
MultiMediaCard.

MPEG4 files are as follows:

• Playing Back Motion Images
(MPEG2) (_ 29)
• If you select [NORM] on [Quality], the
quality of image will deteriorate.
• Files are numbered hexadecimally.
• When a motion image is played back, a
mosaic may appear or some frames may
be missing; but this is normal.
• If there are 12 files or more on the index
picture screen, each press of the left (or
right) of the multi-function button makes
the previous (or next) page appear.
