Formatting SD cards and
HDD
Please be aware that if an SD card or HDD is formatted, then all the data recorded on the SD
card or HDD will be erased. Back up important data on a PC, DVD disc etc.
# Formatting SD cards
Set the mode dial to and set the [MEDIA SELECT] to [SD CARD] ( 37), or set
to and select [ ] tab. ( 70)
Select the menu. ( 24)
! When the confirmation message appears,
select [YES], then press the cursor button.
! When formatting is complete, press the MENU
button to exit the message screen.
# Formatting HDD
Set the mode dial to and set the [MEDIA SELECT] to [HDD] ( 37), or set to
and select [ ] tab. ( 70)

! When formatting is complete, press the MENU

! Perform a physical formatting of the HDD when
this unit is to be disposed/transferred. ( 137)
! Do not turn this unit off or remove the SD card, while formatting. Do not expose the unit to vibrations
or shock.

Use this unit to format SD cards or HDD.
Formatting HDD is only available with this unit.
Do not format an SD card using any other equipment such as a PC. The card may not be used
on this unit.
