4.3 Installing the Software
• Even if not using application software for scanning, the Software / Manual CD‑ROM should be installed to
configure the scanner's settings.
• When turning on the unit's power for the first time, the setup screen for selecting the language used on
the LCD will appear. After setting, touch the icon ( ) to complete your selection.
• You can change the language used on the LCD. For details, see "4.4.1 Changing the language used on
the LCD" (page 28).
• When turning on the unit's power for the first time, the setup screen for setting the date and time will
appear. After setting, touch the icon ( ) to complete your selection. For details, see "4.4.2 Changing
the date and time" (page 28).
Notice
• Make sure to log on as an administrator to install the software.
The software on the enclosed Software / Manual CD-ROM can be installed on your computer.
You can select from the 2 installation methods below, depending on your needs.
a. Complete: Install all the drivers, applications, utilities and Operating Manual.
b. Custom: Install only selected items.
Note
• Normally, it is recommended to select [Complete].
