6.5 Using Push Scan (KV-S5058)
6.5.1 Starting Up Scanner Applications Automatically
You can configure settings so that an application starts up automatically when a document is placed on the
unit's feed tray ("Touch Free Scanning") or by "Single Touch Scanning".
Select the application to start up
Use the Scan Button Setting Tool to set whether an application automatically starts up and under which
conditions it starts up.
1. Double click the (
) icon in the notification area of the task bar to open the Scan Button Setting Tool.
• In Windows 8, open the Scan Button Setting Tool on the Desktop screen.
2. Select [Touch Free Scanning] or [Single Touch Scanning] as the condition for automatically starting up
the application.
3. Select the application to start up.
Note
• The selected application is enabled for both "Touch Free Scanning" and "Single Touch Scanning".
• For details about the Scan Button Setting Tool, refer to the Scan Button Setting Tool help.
Setting the scanning conditions
Scanning conditions are specified on the application's setting screen. For details about an application's
setting screen, refer to the manual or help for that application.
Note
• Press the Start/Stop button for more than 2 seconds to open the application setting screen.
• If the unit is in sleep mode, press the Start/Stop button to return to ready mode first.
• If the application does not start, refer to "12.3 Check the Event Settings for Touch Free Scanning and
Single Touch Scanning" (page 122).
