2. Bury the ground rod near the protector. The grounding wire should be as short as possible.
3. The grounding wire should run straight to the ground rod. Do not run the wire around other
objects.
4. Bury the ground rod at least 50 cm (20 in) underground.

• The above figures are recommendations only.
• The length of the ground rod and the required depth depend on the composition of the soil.
