Motion Security
Great for amateur surveillance applications.
Motion Security recording may start
regardless of subject motion when...
* the background is plain, such as a white
wall. f
* the Camcorder is pointed at something
with distinct horizontal, vertical or oblique
stripes, such as a window shade.
* the brightness suddenly changes.
Motion Security recording may not start
when...
* motion is very slow or very fast.
* moving object is very small.
e motion is in 1 corner of the viewing area.
* in low light situations (MOTION
SECURITY will flash if the light level is
inadequate.)
* the background has distinct horizontal or
vertical stripes.
* the background is plain, such as a white
wall.

Before you begin...
* Connect the Camcorder to a power source.
For extended Camcorder use, it is recom-
mended to use the AC Adaptor as a power
source.
* [nsert a cassette with record tab (see page 12).
: e Set the POWER switch to CAMERA.
* Aim Camcorder at desired area.
I In Record/Pause mode, hold down the
SECURITY MODE button for
approximately 2 seconds to place the
Camcorder in Motion Security Stand-By
mode. {If no cassette tape is inserted,
“Eg will flash.)

«Camcorder will start recording
approximately 3 seconds after motion is
detected.
* if you display the date and time (see page
15), the date and time will also be
,Tecorded.

* Recording will stop 30 seconds after the
motion ceases.
2 Press the SECURITY MODE button
once to cancel the Motion Security
feature.
Note:
* Make sure the Camcorder is firmly secure. If
the Camcorder is moved, the Motion Security
feature will start, regardless of the subject
being recorded.
¢ Camcorder cannot be placed in the Motion
Security Stand-By mode during recording.
* Record/Pause, Stand-By mode, Digital E.I.S.,
Color Digital Fade, One-Touch Auto Fade and
Negative/Positive Transposer can not be
activated while Camcorder is in the Motion
Security Stand-By mode.
