the screen has frozen or the indicator has
disappeared.
Turn the Camcordor off. If the Camcordor isnot
turned off after operating the jeFF/ON] switch,
press the [RESET 1Button (-t3-) first. And
detach the Battery or AC Adaptor and then
reattach it,
Playback (Sound)
1: Sound is not played back from the built-in
speaker of the Camcorder or the
headphones.
* Is the volume too low? During pl;.tybaok,push
the [-VOIJJOG÷j Lever to display the
[VOLUME] Indicator and adjuct the volume.

2: Different sounds are reproduced at the
same time.
[12bti AUDIO] on the [PLAYBACKj Sub-Menu
of the [TAPE PLAYBACK MENUI has boon set
to [MIXJ. As a result, the odgin:.tlsound :.tnd
sound th;.tt was recorded by ;.wdio dubbing ;._ro
played back together. It is possible to
reproduce the sounds separately. {-st-}
3: The original sound was ereasd when audio
dubbing was performed.
If you perform audio dubbing on a recording
made in [16bit] Mode, the cdginal sound will be
cr, tsed. If you wish to preserve the odginal
sound, be sure to select [12bitJ Mode at the
time of recording.
4: Sounds cannot be played back.
Although a Cassette wi_h no audio dubbing is
being played, is [12bit AUDIO] on the
[PLAYBACK] Sub-Menu of the
[TAPE PLAYBACK rVIENUI sot to [ST2]? TO
play back a Cassette with no asdio dubbing,
[12bti AUDIO] must be set to [STI]. {-._2-)
Is the Variable Speed Search Function
working? Press the [ll_] Button to c;.tncol the
Vadable Speed Search Function. (-4._-)
Card
1: Recorded pictures are not clear.
* Is [FICT QUALITYJ on the [CARDj Sub-Menu
sot to [NORMALj or [ECONOMYj? If recording
isdone with it sotto [NORMALJ or
[ECONOMY], im;.lgoswith fine details may
include a mosaic-like pattern. Set
[PICT QUALITY] to [FINE]. (-2_-)
2: Phctoshct Playback images do not look
normal.
The picture may be damaged. In order to
prevent the loss of imago data, backing up on a
C_ssotte or a personal computer is
recommended. (-.,_1'-,-5#-)
3: During Playback [UNPLAYABLE CARD] is
displayed.
The im;.tgowas either recorded in a different
format, or data is damaged.
4: Even if a Card is formatted, it cannot be
used.
Either the Camsordor or the Card may be
damaged. Please consult a dealer.
Others
1: The Magic Wire Remote Control with
Narration Mic does not operate correctly.
(PV=GS200 only)
If it is not plugged in tightly, it will not operate
correctly.
2: The Camcorder clatters when shaking it.
Itisthe sound of the lens moving, not a
malfunction.
3: When the USB Cable is disconnected, an
error message will appear on PC.
TO disconnectthe USB cablesafely,
double-click the [_] icon in the t;._sktray ;.tnd
follow the instructions on the screen. (-_-)
Explanation of Terms
Digital Video System
In a digital video system, imagca and sounds are
converted into digital signals and recorded on a
tape. This complete digital recording is capable of
recording and playb;._ck with minimal image and
sound deterioration.
In addition, it automatically records data, such _s
Time Code and Date/Time, as digital signals.
Compatibility with S-VHS or VHS Cassettes
Bco;.tuso this Camcorder employs a dJgiI;.d
system for recording image and sound data, it is
not compatible with conventional S-VHS or VHS
video equipment that employs an analog
rcsording system.
The size and shape of the Cassettes arc also
different.
Compatibility with Output Signals
Bcoasso AV sign;._loutput from the AV signal
output jack is analog {the same as conventional
videosystems), this Camcorder can be
connected with S-VHS or VHS video or a TV for
playback.
FOCUS
Auto FOCUS Adjustment
The Auto Focus System autcmatic:.dly moves the
focusing lens inside the Camcordor forward and
backward to bring the subject into fcous so that
the subject can be soon clearly.
However, the Auto Focus System does not
function properly for the following subjects or
under the following recording conditions.
