pThe size of still pictures recorded on a card from
the external input becomes [640]. (This is not
maga-pixel still-picture recording.)
pWhen recording still pictures on a card, you
cannot record sound.

Analog/digital conversion
When setting [ADVANCE] >> [DV OUT] >> [ON],
you can output video input from other equipment
in analog form to other digital video equipment
connected through the DV terminal in digital form.
1 Insert the DV cable PV-DDC9/PV-DDC9-K
(optional) securely into the DV terminal as
far as it will go.
1) Other equipment (Video equipment, etc.)
2) Camcorder
3) Other digital video equipment
p Analog signal

pWhen a pause or cue/review playback is
activated on other equipment during analog/
digital conversion, the image may be disturbed
or no image may be presented.
pNormally, set [DV OUT] >> [OFF]. If set to [ON],
the image may be disturbed.
Using the DV cable for Recording
(Digital Dubbing)
By connecting other digital video equipment with
DV terminal and the Camcorder by using the DV
cable PV-DDC9/PV-DDC9-K (optional) ,
high-image-quality dubbing can be done in digital
format.
pSet to Tape Playback Mode. (Player/
recorder)
1 Connect the Camcorder and digital video
equipment with the DV cable.
2 Set [ADVANCE] >> [REC STDBY] >> [YES].
(Recorder)
pYou do not have to follow this step when the
remote control is used in the digital dubbing.
3 Start playback. (Player)
4 Start recording. (Recorder)
Move the joystick up to select [q/] icon.
Or, while pressing the [qREC] button on the
remote control, press the [
] button.
5 Move the joystick up to select the [q/]
icon again or press the [
] button on the
remote control to stop recording.

6 Stop playback. (Player)
