CONNECT THE FMA-101 TO THE HOTEL’S DISTRIBUTION NETWORK
Complete the following steps to connect the FMA-101 to the hotel’s coaxial distribution
network and Internet connection.
1. Mount a 6ELP-50 or 6MLP-50 low pass filter to the FTG rack.
2. Connect a coaxial cable from the RF OUT connector on the FMA-101 to the low pass filter.
3. Terminate the RF IN port on the FMA-101.
4. Connect a coaxial cable from the low pass filter to an input port on the FTG rack combiner.
5. Connect an Ethernet straight-through cable from the FMA-101 Ethernet port to the hotel’s
Internet connection or network, if available.
6. Use a Sencore SLM-1456 meter to balance the FMA-101 forward signal with the FTG
channels installed in the FTG Basic platform. Note: The FMA-101 outputs a forward signal
at 50.5 MHz, the same forward signal frequency as a KSR.
7. Verify the forward signal is between 3 dB and 10 dB in the guest rooms.
