• Check the device before each use for
obvious defects such as loose, worn or
damaged parts. Ensure that all nuts,
bolts and screws are rmly in place.
• Check the covers and protective de-
vices (
2, 8, 16, 20) for damage
and correct t. Replace these if neces-
sary.
Replacingtheairlter
Never run the device without an air
lter. Dust and dirt may otherwise
enter the engine and cause dama-
ge.
Removing the air lter
1. Disconnect the spark plug connector
( 12) (see “Spark plug maintenance”).
2. Open the air lter box (10).
3. Remove the air lter (11).
4. Clean the air lter (11) in a soap soluti-
on.
5. Allow the air lter (11) to dry. Put a
few drops of fresh engine oil into the
air lter.
6. Replace the faulty air lter with a new
air lter (see „Spare parts/Accesso-
ries“).
Inserting the air lter
1. Insert the air lter (11) into the air lter
box (10).
2. Close the air lter box (10) back up.
Spark plug maintenance
Worn spark plugs, or a spark plug
gap that is too large, will lead to a
reduction in engine power.
1. Remove the spark plug connector (12)
by pulling and turning the spark plug
(13).
2. Unscrew the spark plug (13) coun-
ter-clockwise with the enclosed
spark plug wrench (
27).
3. Check the spark plug gap with the help
of a feeler gauge (available from spe-
cialised dealers). The spark plug gap
must be 0.7-0.8 mm.
4. Reset the gap if necessary, by carefully
bending the ground/side electrode of
the spark plug.
5. Clean the spark plug with a wire brush.
6. Insert the cleaned and set spark plug or
replace a damaged spark plug with a
spare spark plug (
26) (recommen-
ded tightening torque 20 Nm, deter-
mined with torque wrench) (see “Spare
parts/accessories”).
Changing the engine oil
Change the engine oil when the
petrol tank is empty and the engine
is warm.
• Perform the rst engine oil chan-
ge after about 5 operating hours
and then every 50 operating
hours or annually.
• Dispose of the used oil in an
environmentally-responsible way
(see „Disposal/Environmental
Protection”).
1. Disconnect the spark plug connector
(
12) (see “Spark plug maintenan-
ce”).
2. Open the oil tank cap (
19).
3. Pump out the engine oil with an oil
pump (not included in delivery).
3. Top up the engine oil (see “Filling the
engine oil”).
