Summary

1. Safety Rules

Training

Read instructions, familiarize with controls and proper use of the equipment.

Preparation

Operate in well-ventilated areas, be aware of slopes, walk, do not run.

Maintenance and Storage

Keep equipment secure, store properly, cool engine before storage.

2. Assembly

Handle Installation

Fit handle lock, position handle base, attach handle assembly with bolts.

Shift Rod and Clutch Cable Connection

Connect shift rod to indicator, secure with clip. Attach clutch cable to control bar.

Tire Pressure

Reduce tire pressure to 20 PSI for proper tiller operation.

Handlebar Assembly

Introduce handlebar cover, lift handle base, pivot assembly, tighten bolts.

3. Start and Operation

Starting the Engine

Reconnect spark plug, set shift lever to neutral, adjust throttle and choke.

Tine Operation

Set throttle to desired speed, engage drive control bar to start tine movement.

Reverse

Release drive bar, set throttle to SLOW, shift lever to R.

Stopping Tines and Engine

Release drive bar, shift lever to N, move throttle to STOP.

Turning

Release drive bar, set throttle to SLOW, shift lever to F, lift handle.

Outer Side Shields

Adjust side shields for deep or shallow tilling by loosening nuts.

Transporting

Lower depth stake, set shift lever to F, move throttle for transport.

Tilling

Adjust depth stake, set shift lever to T, hold drive bar to start tilling.

Cultivating / Weeding

Destroy weeds between rows, best depth 1-3", lower side shields.

4. Maintenance

Engine Maintenance

Disconnect spark plug, check/clean/change oil, clean engine parts.

Transmission Lubrication

Lubricate right hand gear case grease fitting seasonally with wheel bearing grease.

Cleaning and Finishing

Keep tiller clean, protect painted surfaces with automotive wax.

Storage

Store in dry area, drain fuel system, drain oil, clean tiller.

Charts detailing lubrication and maintenance tasks at intervals.

5. Repair and Adjustment

Handle Adjustment

Loosen lever, position handle at desired height, retighten lever.

Ground Drive Belt Adjustment

Adjust belt tension using extension spring for proper drive.

Ground Drive Belt Replacement

Remove wheel, belt guard, old belt, install new belt, adjust guides.

Tine Replacement

Check tines for sharpness and wear, replace if necessary.

6. Troubleshooting

Engine Will Not Start or Starts Poorly

Check fuel, throttle, choke, fuel tank, air filter, spark plug, wiring, fuel quality.

Engine Misses or Lacks Power

Check for engine overload, clogged fuel tank, air cleaner, carburetor, air screen.

Engine Overheats

Check air screen, oil level, engine cleanliness, muffler, carburetor.

Soil Balls Up or Clumps

Ensure soil is not too wet; wait for favorable conditions.
