8.5.6. Brine valve and/or piston and seals & spacers replacement
No. Operation
A
Remove the gearing system, see “Disassembling/assembling valve from/on tank”,
page 92.
B Remove the screws (1).
C
Remove the piston (3) and the top plate (2) by pulling the top plate (2) on the points
indicated by arrows.
D Remove the brine valve (7).
E Change the piston (3) and the seals & spacers cartridge (5).
MANDATORY
Pentair recommend always to change piston and seals & spacers simultaneously.
CAUTION
The larger spacer (6) is the lower part of the seals & spacers cartridge.
F Change or clean the brine valve (7).

Lubricate all seals (4+5+7) and with approved P-80
®
Emulsion lubricant only.
CAUTION
Using another type of lubricant, such as petroleum-based lubricants (Vaseline, oils, or
hydrocarbon-based lubricants) or silicone grease, may damage the valve.
H Reverse above procedure steps to rebuild.
