8.5.7.8 Disassembling/assembling valve from/on tank

Remove the softener cover, see 8.5.1. First steps, page 76 and 8.5.2. Softener cover
removal, page 77.
B Release the tube (1) from push-fit fitting (2).
C Remove the DLFC clip (5) and extract the DLFC assembly and elbow (4).
D Unscrew (3) and remove the meter (6).
E Unscrew, counter-clockwise, the valve (7) from tank (8).
F Perform maintenance or change the valve (7).

Lubricate the valve tank adapter and riser tube o-rings with approved P-80
®
Emulsion
lubricant only.
CAUTION
Using another type of lubricant, such as petroleum-based lubricants (Vaseline, oils, or
hydrocarbon-based lubricants) or silicone grease, may damage the valve.
H Spin the valve (7) onto the tank (8), ensuring the threads are not cross-threaded.
I Rotate the valve (7) clockwise and freely, without using force until it comes to a stop.
NOTE
This stop position is considered point zero.
J Rotate the valve (7) clockwise from point zero to between ¼ turn and ½ turn.
CAUTION
Do NOT exceed 27 Nm of torque when installing the valve. Exceeding this limit may
damage the threads and cause failure.
K Reverse steps A to D to rebuild.
