2.1 GENERAL DESCRIPTION
2.2 USES
TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS
Our expansion tanks are made from AISI 304 stainless steel and come in various sizes - from 8 to 24 litres - that can be congured
vertically or horizontally. They also have legs and a bracket for an electric pump. Most have an interchangeable membrane while some
versions come without a membrane but with an air pump. Tanks with a membrane are precharged at a pressure of 1.5 bar.
The table below details the main technical characteristics of the stainless steel expansion vessel.
AISI 304 stainless steel expansion
vessels are designed to be installed
in humid environments for use with
cold and hot water or for heating and
air-conditioning in compliance with
associated limits
The tank is designed to be used in
systems containing clean water. It
is not designed for use in systems
containing other liquids, nor anti-
freeze or other
The main function of the tank is to
maintain system pressure in the event
of small water withdrawals, with the
aim of reducing the number of times
the pump has to be restarted
Which size vessel to choose depends
on the maximum capacity of the pump
and its speed regulation system (xed
vs. controlled)
The version with air pump works
without a membrane by using the
vacuum created by the pump on the
suction outlet
The air is drawn in from the air pump's
valve and remains trapped in the top
of the tank, creating an air cushion
that allows the tank to function as an
expansion vessel
