4.0 Solar Powered Wireless Occupancy Sensor
TheAirwaveoccupancysensorisabattery-freedevicewhichoperatesonsolarenergyharvestedbyintegralphotovoltaiccells.Thisenablesthedevicetobeplacedanywhereinthespaceand
movedatanytimeaftertheinitialinstallation.ThesensorusesPassiveInfrared(PIR)detectioncircuitryandwirelesstransmissiontosendanoccupancyorvacancysignaltotheAirwavetransceiver,
which responds by turning the lights on or gradually dimming the lights to off.
TheAirwaveoccupancysensorcandetectmotioninuptoa30footdiameterwhenplacedon8to12footceiling.TheoptimalplacementforPIRoccupancysensorsisdirectlyabovetheareawith
themostmotionandwherethemotionisnotshadowedbyline-of-sightobstacles.
Thewirelessoccupancysensortimedelayissetinthetransceivermemoryat15minutes,butcanbeuseradjustedto30secondsor5,10,15,20,or25minutes.(SeetheAirwaveProgramming
Guideforinstructionsonsettingtheoccupancytimedelay.)
ThetimedelayparameterintheTransceivermustbesetafterthewirelessoccupancysensorislinked.Thetimedelayprogrammingsettingisthe“TimedSwitch”delaytimeuntilanoccupancy
sensorisattached(wiredorwirelessly).
AnAirwavewallswitchwillallowmanualon/offcontrolofthelightsregardlessofwhethertheTransceiverissetinmanual-Onorauto-Onoccupancymode.
ForconferenceroomapplicationswherethelightsneedtobeoffduringanA/Vpresentation,thelightswillremainoffafteramanual-OfffromanAirwaveswitchuntiltheroombecomes
unoccupiedorthelightsaremanuallyswitchedbackon.AfterthispointtheoccupancysensorandTransceiverwillreturntonormalon/offcontrolofthelighting.
