This document is a user manual for the Philips BT9295, BT9290, and BT9280 beard trimmers.
The device is a beard trimmer designed for trimming facial hair (beard, mustache, and sideburns). It is not intended for trimming lower body hair or scalp hair.
General Description (Fig. 1):
The trimmer features a turnable trimming head (3) with two sides: 32mm (1.25in) and 15mm (0.6in). The 15mm side allows for more precise styling and contouring. It comes with a precision trimming comb (1) and a standard trimming comb (2). A laser guide (4) is integrated for precise outlining, which can be used with both sides of the trimming head when trimming without a comb. The laser guide has a guiding groove for the trimming comb (5). The length setting is displayed on an LCD screen (6) and adjusted via a zoom wheel (7). The device is operated by an on/off button (8). Battery lights (9) indicate the charge status. It has a socket for a small plug (10) for charging, connecting to an adapter (11) with a small plug (12). A cleaning brush (13) is included for maintenance, and a storage pouch (14) is provided for models BT925/BT9290.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Noise level: Lc= 65dB(A)
- Charging time: Approximately 60 minutes for a full charge.
- Quick charge function: Provides enough energy for one cordless trimming session after approximately 3 minutes of charging.
- Operating/Charging/Storage temperature: Between 5°C and 35°C.
- Laser: Class 1 laser product, compliant with IEC60825-1.
- Water resistance: The appliance is watertight and can be safely cleaned under the tap.
- Length settings: Adjustable from 0.4mm to 7mm.
Usage Features:
- Cordless and Corded Use: The trimmer can be operated cordlessly after charging or directly from the mains using the supplied adapter.
- Laser Guide Trimming: The laser guide helps define beard, sideburn, and mustache edges. It can be activated by pressing its top and will project a laser line over the trimming head. The laser guide is only for use when trimming without a comb. To prevent damage, the laser guide must be pushed to the 'off' position before turning the trimming head.
- Trimming without Comb: Allows for a close-to-skin trim. The turnable trimming head offers 32mm and 15mm sides for varying precision.
- Trimming with Comb: Two combs are provided: a standard comb for general beard trimming and a precision comb for hard-to-reach areas (e.g., under the nose). The combs maintain a specific distance from the skin, determining the hair length, which can be adjusted using the zoom wheel. The selected length setting is displayed on the front of the appliance.
- Battery Indicators: The bottom battery light flashes orange and white alternately during initial charging. After about 3 minutes, it flashes white only, indicating enough charge for one cordless session. All lights turn solid white when fully charged. When the battery is almost empty, the bottom light flashes orange; it flashes faster when the battery is completely empty or when the on/off button, zoom wheel, or laser guide is activated.
- Automatic Laser Guide Shut-off: If the motor is not operating, the laser guide automatically switches off after 3 minutes.
