Routine Maintenance
Recommended Frequency
Perform the maintenance procedures at the recommended frequency shown in the
following table. The maintenance procedures described in this guide should only be
performed by qualified service personnel.
Caution The frequency recommendations in the following table do not supersede local
requirements. Always perform locally required testing in addition to the testing in
this chapter.

Routine safety and operational checks
Visual inspection of exterior for
damage
Before use.
Inspection of labels for legibility Before use.
Cleaning and disinfecting According to your institution’s policy or
between each patient. For complete
cleaning instructions, see the Efficia CM
Series Patient Monitors Instructions for
Use.
Visually inspect and clean dust from
monitor vents.
As needed or according to your institution’s
policy.
Maintaining the battery
Charging As needed.
Reconditioning When the Max Error is 8% or greater.
Upgrading the software Upgrades should be performed according
to your department’s or institution’s policy
to avoid interruptions in patient care.
Clearing Notifications As needed or according to your institution’s
policy.
For wall-mounted monitors, check
that the monitor is securely fastened
tighten the screws
Monthly.
