Entering Patient Information
Patient information can be entered (except when in AED Mode) for the following categories:
To enter patient information on the Efficia DFM100:
1 Press the Smart Select knob.
2 Turn the Smart Select knob to highlight
 and press the Smart Select knob.
3 Select the category you want to enter information for and press the Smart Select knob.
4 If you are entering the patients name, the
 screen appears with a menu of letters to
enter the patients last name. See Figure 37. Using the Smart Select knob, select the first letter of
the patient’s last name.
a Press the Smart Select knob to select the letter.
b Repeat the process with the remaining letters of the last name.
c Once you have completed spelling the patients last name, select
. The Efficia
DFM100 stores the last name and prompts you to enter a first name.
5 Repeat Step 4 to insert the patients first name. Selecting
 saves the first name and prompts
you to enter a Patient ID.
NOTES: If you had previously entered the last name, first name, or patient ID, the Efficia DFM100
remembers the information and populates the screen for you.
There are 18-letter limits for a first name and a last name; 16-character limit for Patient ID.
6 If you are entering the Patient ID, the
 screen appears with a menu of letters and numbers to
enter the patient’s ID.
7 If you are entering the patient’s sex, the sex menu appears with
 and  options to
select.
8 If you are entering the patients internal paced status, the
 screen appears with  and 
options. Select
 if the patient is paced and  if they are not paced.
NOTES: It is important to set the patients correct paced status in order to optimize ECG analysis.
Paced status does not appear in AED Mode.
