989803139311 INFANT/CHILD KEY
The Infant/Child Key is for use only with the
HeartStart FRx Defibrillator to treat an infant or
child who is under 55 pounds (25 kg) or 8 years old.
If you are uncertain of the child’s exact weight or age,
apply the defibrillator without the Infant/Child Key.
For instructions on using the FRx Defibrillator, refer
to the FRx Defibrillator Owner’s Manual or Quick
Reference Guide.
WARNING: Infants and children more often
become unresponsive due to breathing or other
issues than to heart problems.
Give one minute of infant/child CPR while a
bystander calls 911/EMS.
If no bystander is available, call EMS after giving
CPR for 1 minute.
Turn on the HeartStart FRx Defibrillator and
install the Infant/Child Key.
Alternatively, follow your local protocol.
With the Infant/Child Key inserted, the HeartStart
FRx will announce “Infant/Child Mode,” automatically
reduce the defibrillation energy, and provide optional
infant/child CPR coaching.
No special defibrillator pads are required to use the
HeartStart FRx to treat an infant or child; the
HeartStart SMART Pads II provided with the
defibrillator are designed for both adult and infant/
child use.
Infant/Child Key, front.
