The effect of the Infraphil

The Infraphil produces infrared light, which penetrates deeply into the skin.
This heats the skin, dilating the blood vessels and thus stimulating blood
circulation.
The blood transports the substances necessary for rebuilding and
nourishing the body's tissues more rapidly, while at the same time waste
substances are removed more quickly.
These features make the Infraphil extremely suitable for therapeutic as well
as cosmetic use.
Therapeutic applications
Infrared light can be used to treat muscular pains (fig. 4 and 5) and
(common) colds (fig. 6).
If there is no improvement after 6-8 treatments, stop using the appliance

Do not use the appliance if you have a swelling or an inflammation, as
heat could aggravate the complaints. If in doubt, consult your doctor.
Cosmetic applications

Remove all make-up from your face before treatment to ensure optimal
results.
The Infraphil keeps your facial skin healthy and clean because of its
stimulating effect on the blood circulation.
Infrared light opens the pores of the skin. This will allow better cleaning of
the skin.
As a result of the infrared light, creams or other skincare products are
absorbed better and more quickly by the skin.

Troubleshooting

Overview

The Philips InfraPhil HP3614 is a therapeutic and cosmetic infrared lamp designed to provide deep-penetrating heat for various applications. This device utilizes infrared light to stimulate blood circulation, promote healing, and enhance skin health.

Function Description

The core function of the InfraPhil HP3614 is to emit infrared light, which penetrates deeply into the skin. This deep penetration causes the skin to warm, leading to the dilation of blood vessels. The increased blood flow stimulated by this process accelerates the transport of essential substances needed for rebuilding and nourishing body tissues. Simultaneously, waste products are removed more quickly from the treated area. This dual action makes the InfraPhil suitable for both therapeutic and cosmetic uses.

For therapeutic applications, the InfraPhil is particularly effective in treating muscular pains and common colds. The warmth generated by the infrared light helps to relax muscles and alleviate discomfort. In the case of colds, the heat can provide relief from symptoms. Users are advised to discontinue use and consult a doctor if there is no improvement after 6-8 treatments, or if they have a swelling or inflammation, as heat could potentially worsen these conditions.

In cosmetic applications, the InfraPhil contributes to maintaining healthy and clean facial skin. Its stimulating effect on blood circulation helps to revitalize the skin. The infrared light also opens the skin's pores, facilitating more effective cleaning. Furthermore, the enhanced absorption of creams and other skincare products due to the infrared light means that these products can work more efficiently and quickly.

Usage Features

The InfraPhil HP3614 is designed for straightforward and safe operation. Before use, it is crucial to ensure that the voltage indicated on the lamp matches the mains voltage in your home. The appliance should always be placed on a stable and horizontal surface and should never be suspended from a wall or ceiling. It is important not to cover the appliance with any material, such as a cloth, while it is switched on, to prevent overheating. The device should also be kept away from water and should not be used in bathrooms or shower rooms.

When treating muscular pains, the recommended distance between the lamp and the treated area is approximately 20 cm, ensuring the heat feels comfortable on the skin. For treating colds, the distance between the face and the appliance should be around 35 cm. The beam of infrared light should always be aimed directly at the part of the body being treated.

The duration of treatment depends on the individual and the specific use. Short treatments, such as two 15-minute sessions per day, are generally recommended, as practice has shown that multiple short treatments can yield better results than one longer session.

To switch on the appliance, simply insert the plug into a wall socket. During operation, it is important not to look directly into the lamp's light and to keep your eyes closed. The lamp housing will become quite hot when in use, so direct contact should be avoided. Users should also avoid intense cooling of the treated body part immediately after a session. The appliance should not be left unattended while switched on, and children should be prevented from playing with it. Individuals taking painkillers should consult their doctor before using the InfraPhil, as painkillers can reduce heat sensitivity.

For safety, ensure the infrared light beam maintains a safe distance of at least 45 cm from flammable objects and walls. It is also important not to fall asleep during treatment.

Maintenance Features

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of the InfraPhil HP3614. After each use, allow the appliance to cool down for a few minutes before storing it. The mains cord can be neatly stored by winding it onto the designated cord storage facility on the base of the appliance.

For cleaning, always unplug the appliance and let the lamp cool down completely before starting. The appliance can be cleaned with a cloth moistened with distilled water or alcohol.

Should the lamp need replacement, it must be replaced with an identical infrared lamp (Philips R95E/100W). If the mains cord of the appliance becomes damaged, it must only be replaced by a Philips-authorised service centre to prevent hazardous situations. The infrared lamp itself is not covered by the terms of the international guarantee.

In case of any issues or if the appliance does not work properly, users should first check for common problems such as an improperly inserted plug or a power failure. If the problem persists or is not listed in the troubleshooting guide, it is advisable to take the appliance to a dealer or an authorised Philips service centre.
