Read these instructions for use in
conjunction with the illustrations
before using the appliance.
Before plugging in, check that the
mains voltage indicated on the
rating plate (underside of
appliance) corresponds to the
mains voltage in your home.
Be careful when handling the
blades:
- Keep the knife away from
children.
Whenever you wish to mount or
dismount the blades: first unplug!
(Then the appliance cannot be
switched on accidentally and
cause injury.)
- Always hold the blades with the
cutting edges pointing away from
you.
Keep the blades in good
condition:
- Avoid touching the fork or
tongs used for keeping the food
in place while cutting.
- Preferably use a shatterproof
wooden or plastic carving board.
- Do not cut through bones or
other hard pieces.
- Wash the blades carefully: they
may be damaged by
knocking against hard
objects.
The stainless steel blades require
no sharpening.
Move the knife smoothly and
carefully: the cutting should be
done without effort.
Apply hardly any force while
cutting: the appliance should be
allowed to do the work for you.
It is advisable to make a slight
carving movement with the
electric knife when it comes into
contact with the food.
It is advisable not to cut meat
(especially roast-beef)
immediately after roasting or
grilling to avoid juice spillage.
Never immerse the motor unit in
water or any other liquid.

Avoid cutting the mains cord. Do
not use the appliance when the
cord and/or the plug are damaged
in any way.
If the mains cord of this appliance
is damaged, it must only be
replaced by Philips or their
service representative, as special
tools and/or parts are required.
